Liturgical dance to song from R-rated film ('nudity and sexual content')
The Hong Kong chapter of the Mindanao Liturgical Dancers, a troupe that originated in the Philippines, helps celebrate the 25th anniversary of that city's "Catholic Center" with choreography performed to Irene Cara's "Flashdance…What a Feeling", a hit song from the 1983 movie
Flashdance, which was rated R (Restricted – Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian) based on "strong language, nudity and sexual content".A caption accompanying the above video offers "thanks to all provincial dancers of El Shaddi, for sharing your talents." El Shaddi, it turns out, is one of the largest and richest "Catholic Charismatic" groups in the world, claiming over 8 million adherents in over 30 countries. Started in the Philippines in 1984, El Shaddi boasts a 16,000-seat mega-church in Manila, which was built in 2009 at a cost of approximately $21 million, a figure that does not include the land.
As for the dance shown here, no, there's no nudity or sexual content, but there are some things that border on the sexually provocative. The young ladies are dressed in outfits that include matching jackets, sneakers and very short (nearly mini) skirts. Fortunately, there are leotards under the skirts, but still, there's no way this attire would pass muster for following pre-Vatican II standards for properly modest (or Marylike) dress; rather, it is closer to the immodest dress Pope Pius XII warned about when he wrote of "the harm resulting from excess in certain gymnastic exercises and sports not suitable for virtuous girls". The first dance move is for them to strip off their jackets and discard them. The word strip is used intentionally, because that is the suggestion given (and apparently sought), as is evidenced by the collective oohs and aahs of the observers and resulting smiles on the faces of the participants. Ensuing semi-racy movements include high leg kicks, hip shakes and hands on upper thighs (and in the case of the girls nearest the camera, inner thighs), none of which, to state the obvious in Pius's words, are not suitable for virtuous girls.
The tragedy here is that these "Catholic" girls are being brought up to think there's nothing at all unvirtuous about what they're doing. There's nothing in their religion classes telling them of the great importance of modest dress and behavior on their purity and that of boys who watch them, their pastors and dance instructors aren't telling them any differently, their friends are supportive (or even performing in the troupe with them), the movies, television and the internet assure them it's what "all the girls are doing these days", and to top it off, even their parents don't mind, because "the Church" says it's okay. Surely this in no way excuses the girls, but it certainly mitigates their culpability to a degree (were they traditional Catholic girls deliberately turning from what they'd learned almost from the cradle, then their guilt would be greater).
This particular event looks to be conducted in a gymnasium or social center, and not part of a religious service. However, it's important to note that the same sort of song and dance is just as likely to occur during a "new Mass". (Some readers are probably saying to themselves that no dance could be that bad during a "new Mass". No, not usually, but there are actually instances that are far worse than this, far more immodest and sexually suggestive, such as in this video―viewer discretion advised.) And please note that this video was uploaded to YouTube on January 22nd, so going on seven years after the the election of Benedict XVI, the supposed great restorer of dignity to liturgical functions, who many believed would put his foot down to eliminate profane and secular music in such a context, the nonsense rolls on unabated. His utter failure to act is hardly surprising, but rather quite consistent with man who has shown every indication since his election of continuing Vatican II Modernism under the guise of restoring Catholic Tradition, quite consistent with a man whose "pontificate" has been a fraud from day one.

"Of course, the actual text of the letter has nothing

NOW Comments:
The real horror, we fear, is yet to come late this year, when the USCCB will cave into some sort of compromise with the Obama Administration, which may make some token (cosmetic) changes that will seem to be concessions. In turn, the Novus Ordo hierarchy will once again do nothing to see that Obama is voted out of office in November. When they paved the way for his 2008 election by convincing faithless "Catholic" voters that it was okay to vote for a man who not only supported abortion "rights", but also the killing of babies who escaped attempted abortions, the "bishops" failed to warn them of the kind of "liberal" he is―a coercive liberal, a distinction which is well elaborated by Washington Post writer Michael Gerson in a column (linked above) about the recent flap:
Obama’s decision also reflects a certain view of liberalism. Classical liberalism was concerned with the freedom to hold and practice beliefs at odds with a public consensus. Modern liberalism uses the power of the state to impose liberal values on institutions it regards as backward. It is the difference between pluralism and anti-clericalism.
As for Buchanan's column, we can't agree with Pat's headline about Obama double crossing Novus Ordo "Catholics". They knew when they helped get him elected four years ago that he was a militantly pro-abortion rattlesnake, so if he turns around and sinks his fangs into them, should they be surprised? Lesson learned long ago by our ancestors: Mess around with a rattlesnake and you're going to get bit. Now they complain that they're starting to feel the effect of his venom? Instead of whining about it, this is a golden opportunity for Americans sitting in the Conciliar pews to engage in some long-needed regime change. Toss Obama out on his keister? By all means. But more importantly, while they're at it they need to get rid of all the so-called bishops of the USCCB, who greatly helped facilitate Obama's being turned loose on the nation, which is roughly the equivalent of a rattlesnake being turned loose in a petting zoo. It's time to replace the scoundrels with real Catholic bishops.

Damning with faint praise
Who was St. Thomas Aquinas? Benedict XVI
explains
The occasion for his remarks was the Novus Ordo feast day of
St.Thomas on January 28th (moved from March 7th on the
traditional calendar). Joseph Ratzinger has never been a fan
scholasticism or of Aquinas in particular (see his own
comments on the subject of St. Thomas, cited in
The Memories of a Destructive Mind). As for the video,
Benedict is shown blandly discussing St. Thomas's teachings
on "the natural moral law" and "faith and reason". Had
"Pope" Ratzinger answered the title's question candidly, he
could have said something like, "Thomas Aquinas was someone
whose writings I like much less than those of the Jewish
philosopher, Martin Buber".

The Remnant
promotes 'extraordinary form of Rome Rite' to be said by
dubious celebrant
"Ceremonial and logistical assistance for the Mass is provided through the generous efforts of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP)."
NOW Comments:
For those inclined to view The Remnant as a staunchly traditional Catholic publication/website, the above announcement should disabuse the more perceptive among them of such an illusion. "Abp." Wenski was "ordained a priest" (1976) and "consecrated a bishop" (1997) according to the doubtful new rites of Paul VI. In other words, The Remnant is encouraging people to attend a service in which may well a simulation of a Mass at which they will be receiving mere bread instead of the Blessed Sacrament―in other words, encouraging people to attend a likely sacrilege. It is a principle of moral theology that the faithful can in no way avail themselves of doubtful sacraments, and there is no exception to this rule in the case of "the Holy Eucharist because of the danger of idolatry" (Fr. Heribert Jone, O.F.M. Cap., J.C.D., Moral Theology [trans. Fr. Urban Adelman, O.F.M. Cap., J.C.D.], Westminster, MD:The Newman Bookshop, 1945, p.323)
So, can The Remnant really make the claim of being traditional Catholic? No, not in any truly meaningful sense of the term, because they've had decades to determine that Paul VI's sacraments are doubtfully valid (and it's not even a close call). It's time that Michael Matt and his staff wake up to reality, and stop giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Then, they'll be entitled to be called traditional Catholic, and not a moment before.

'Pope': The Neocatechumenal Way is a
'special gift of the Holy Spirit'
"My friend Jan was following some of the conservative sites
from Italy that were dramatically awaiting “the verdict” to
be delivered by the Vatican on the controversial
Neocatechumenal Way on January 20. On that day, Pope
Benedict would meet with thousands of its members in the
Paul VI Hall and the Pontifical Council for the Laity would
release a decree regarding the movement.
"Jan told me she knew something of the controversial
liturgical practices and doctrinal aberrations of the
Neocatechumenal Way. She specified:
•it denies the sacrificial character of the Mass;
•it rejects transubstantiation;
•and it follows Luther’s teaching on justification.
“The Way (as it is called) is more Lutheran than Catholic,” my friend affirmed. 'I am sure that our Holy Father will never give his approval to it. After all, if he is serious about reconciling with Catholic traditionalists, why would he approve this sacrilege? It would be a contradiction.'
"I do not share Jan’s opinion on
the supposed conservatism of Benedict XVI. So I was not
surprised to learn that actually at the January 20 audience
the Pope warmly praised the Neocatechumenal Way, calling it
“a special gift which the Holy Spirit has given to our
times.” He lauded the members for their apostolic zeal,
noting their “firm commitment to proclaim the Gospel of the
risen Christ,” and urged them to always make sure their
"precious work" was in "profound communion with the
Apostolic See and the pastors of the local church in which
they are inserted."

Proposed: Closing of 6 Omaha schools
NOW Comments:
The interview (see first video, which is significantly titled "Catholicism in Decline?") between a Philadelphia television news reporter and a member of the "archdiocese's" panel on schools has a few telling exchanges. First, there's an explanation that the main reason Novus Ordo church attendance is down stems from the secularization of society. What isn't said, of course, is that the stated intent of John XXIII in convening Vatican II sect in the first place was to open the windows of the Church to the world, which has turned out to be something of the spiritual equivalent of opening the windows of one's home to the noise, smog and foul odors of a crowded, man-centered city. One amazing statistic that came out is that the number of students enrolled in Philadelphia's "parochial" school system currently stands at only 68,000, down from 250,000 pupils in the city's Catholic schools back in 1961; to find an enrollment as low as 68,000 in those schools, one has to trace all the way back to 1911! The excuse? In part, due to fewer baptisms. Wow, what an admission! The ultimate cause, however, traces back to the fantastically successful efforts to undermine the Catholic Church set in to motion at the Robber Council of Vatican II.

On
avoiding the "spiritual and mental sickness" of Modernist
Rome
Bishop Williamson: 'I would rather be a schismatic
sedevacantist than a Roman apostate'
"A long-standing correspondent wrote to me recently with a
dozen arguments to show why the SSPX should come to some
agreement with Rome, even if the doctrinal Discussions of
2009-2011 showed that the Rome-SSPX doctrinal disagreement
is radical. Let me dwell here on one of his arguments,
because I think it opens up the full dimensions of what the
SSPX is up against.
"He wrote that if the SSPX does not soon "normalize" its
standing with Rome, then it runs the risk of losing the
sense of what it means to belong to the Church. For there
are layfolk and even SSPX priests who are comfortable with
their present abnormal situation and have adapted to it,
because the SSPX "has all that it needs, notably bishops".
Such adaptation, wrote my colleague, tends towards a
schismatic mentality and a practical, if not theoretical,
sedevacantism. I replied that in my opinion a much greater
risk than that of acquiring a schismatic mentality is that
of contracting "the spiritual and mental sickness of today's
Romans by getting too close to them." A scandalous reply?
Let me explain.
"'Mental sickness' is the phrase applied to Roman churchmen
with whom a second friend recently held long conversations.
He said that they are intelligent and sincere men, fully
capable of grasping the arguments of Tradition put before
them, but he concluded, 'They are mentally sick. Only, they
have the authority." Certainly he meant no personal insult
to these Romans when he called them 'mentally sick'. What he
was uttering was something far more serious than a mere
personal insult. He was commenting on the objective state of
the Romans' minds, as confirmed by his long conversations
with them. Their minds are no longer running on truth.…
"And the fascination of the Vatican is only a small part of
the total pressure of the modern world seeping into minds to
disable them, and to make us follow its current. Dear friend
of mine, I would rather be a schismatic sedevacantist than a
Roman apostate. With the grace of God, neither!"
NOW Comments:
"At least the Sedevacantists are consistent", once wrote
Stephen Hand, a harsh critic of traditional Catholics. "They
simply say that the conciliar and post-conciliar Popes were
and are heretics, thus they possess no authority to teach
anything in the name of the Catholic Faith,…But those who
say---all the more deceptively---- 'No, we are not
sedevacantists,' but who in fact thrive on constant
opposition to the successor to Peter, the 'Rock' to whom Our
Lord gave the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and the promise
of absolute indefectibility, these have even less
credibility,...."
That candid quotation came to mind when reading what Bishop Richard
Williamson has to say here. It is a prime example of how
maddening the positions of the SSPX are when it comes to
evaluating the crisis in the Church and the proper approach
to dealing with it. Although Society Superior General Bishop
Bernard Fellay has been in the forefront of negotiations
with Modernist Rome to normalize relations between the two
sides, Bp. Williamson has often challenged those
negotiations as ultimately fruitless endeavors. And of
course, his position is the correct one, insofar as it goes,
for despite appearances to the contrary, the SSPX has
nothing to gain and everything to lose by entering into any
agreement with the Vatican―an agreement that would
necessarily require it to make doctrinal compromises.
Where his position falters, however, is his agreement with
the characterizing the problem in Rome being merely one of
churchmen having "spiritual and mental sickness". But what
about
theological and moral sickness?
Ah,
there's
the rub.
That's what we're dealing with here in
these 21st century Modernists. Certainly it's true that sick
minds are to work in them, but it's a sickness containing an
element of
culpability,
much as alcoholism or drug addiction. In
Pascendi,
Pope St. Pius X made it abundantly clear that
moral corruption
is involved in the formation of Modernists:
"We recognize that the remote causes may be reduced to two: curiosity and pride. Curiosity by itself, if not prudently regulated, suffices to account for all errors. Such is the opinion of Our predecessor, Gregory XVI, who wrote: 'A lamentable spectacle is that presented by the aberrations of human reason when it yields to the spirit of novelty, when against the warning of the Apostle it seeks to know beyond what it is meant to know, and when relying too much on itself it thinks it can find the truth outside the Catholic Church wherein truth is found without the slightest shadow of error.'
"But it is pride which exercises an incomparably greater sway over the soul to blind it and lead it into error, and pride sits in Modernism as in its own house, finding sustenance everywhere in its doctrines and lurking in its every aspect. It is pride which fills Modernists with that self-assurance by which they consider themselves and pose as the rule for all. It is pride which puffs them up with that vainglory which allows them to regard themselves as the sole possessors of knowledge, and makes them say, elated and inflated with presumption, 'We are not as the rest of men,' and which, lest they should seem as other men, leads them to embrace and to devise novelties even of the most absurd kind. It is pride which rouses in them the spirit of disobedience and causes them to demand a compromise between authority and liberty. It is owing to their pride that they seek to be the reformers of others while they forget to reform themselves, and that they are found to be utterly wanting in respect for authority, even for the supreme authority. Truly there is no road which leads so directly and so quickly to Modernism as pride.…(emphasis added―NOW)"
This explanation, which sharply puts into
focus the mentality (and mental sickness, if you
will) of the Ratzingers and Rahners, the Kaspers and Kungs,
and all the rest of the pseudo-Catholics who have had their
way for the past 50+ years in corrupting the Church (or at
least her outer structure) is a hard saying, a stumbling
block for Bp. Williamson, for the moment he concedes that
the men with whom the Society are negotiating fit this
profile to a tee is the moment he concedes they aren't
Catholic, at all.
But wait. Bp. Williamson does speak of not wanting to become
"a Roman apostate", as if to acknowledge that there is such
a category of individual. Wouldn't that logically mean that
he believes some of these men not to be Catholic? Well, yes,
logically it would, but unfortunately when it comes to
discussions of this sort, His Excellency has been known to
throw logic clean out the window. He has, after all, come up
with some of the most ludicrous (and we suspect he's well
aware that they ludicrous) attempts to explain away the
heresies of John Paul II (e.g., he's in a "liberal dream")
and Benedict XVI (e.g.,
he's too much enamored with "modern German philosophy"),
rather than state the obvious: they were or are
manifest heretics who ceased being Catholic and who ipso
facto lost the office by their very own acts (see
Objection 3. A heretic-"pope" remains pope until judged
infallibly by Holy Church) if, in fact, they ever possessed
it to begin with. We call attention to the fact mentioned
before on these pages, that regrettably for Bp. Williamson's
arguments, nowhere in Pascendi (or anywhere else in
the Church's magisterium, for that matter), are allowances
made for Modernists to retain the good name of Catholic
because their heresies are the result of nocturnal
activities or metaphysical predilections. How said
individuals arrived at their public heresies is of no great
concern to the Church; what is of vital importance is their
defection from the Faith and the danger that that falling
away may have on others.
Finally, we come to his remark that he'd 'rather be a
schismatic sedevacantist than a Roman apostate'. Now,
without getting into the question of schism
too deeply, Bp. Williamson should know very well that the
position he and his SSPX brethren hold concerning Modernist
Rome can just as easily―actually
more easily―be
characterized as schismatic, because whereas the
sedevacantist rejects the papal claims of Fr. Ratzinger,
thus not consciously disobeying a man he recognizes as Pope,
Bp. Williamson believes Benedict XVI is a true pontiff, yet
gives him scant obedience, if any. The term "cardboard
pope", coined by Fr. Anthony Cekada to describe someone
who's only regarded as a figurehead to be trotted out "for
display purposes only", is an apt summing up of the SSPX
"recognize but resist" stance. In the end it leads the
Society into inadvertently un-Catholic policies, which are
arguably schismatic, as in making the call as to whether it
will accept or reject Conciliar canonizations (St. Thomas
Aquinas teaches that canonizations are infallible, a
position subsequently upheld by the Church) and canon law
(which, were it coming from the true Church could not be
challenged, as it is part of the magisterium).
It would be good for Bp. Williamson (and others in the SSPX)
to adopt the only logically consistent and tenable position,
the only position by which one may explain the current
situation in the Church today without resorting to mental
gymnastics that in the end only leaves one's mind tied up in
knots, to
adopt policies that give lip service and nothing more to the
man putatively referred to as Pope or to dread the thought
of getting too close to the "Pope's" representatives for
fear of losing the Faith…and that position is
sedevacantism. Since the Society is the largest grouping
of traditionally-minded Catholics in the world, how it
chooses to move forward necessarily is of monumental
importance to the future of the Church.
There are essentially three options: 1) It can maintain the
status quo, which is to play its cat and mouse games with
Modernist Rome, but stay out that sect; 2) It can sell out
and join the Novus Ordo "Church" (and it is ultimately a
sell out of the SSPX's own foundational principles, even if
it's blind to the fact, because the doctrinal compromises it
will be forced to accept are irreconcilable with true
Catholicism), which will amount to a tactical nuclear weapon
landing in the midst of the traditional movement; or 3)
Realizing that the first option isn't advancing the cause,
but merely treading water, and the second is suicidal, it
can make the bold step of acknowledging that the way to
restore the Church is to quit pretending that the problem
only consists of confused churchmen who can be talked back
to orthodoxy, and see that there is an enemy occupation of
many of the highest positions and that this isn't a new
situation but one that's plagued Holy Mother Church for
generations. Please God, the sooner the Society finally
wakes up to how counterproductive its stand has been in this
regard, the sooner the long-desired restoration of the
Church can begin in earnest.

Dolan actively joins in celebration at 'gay'-friendly church
PLACE: The Church of St. Francis Xavier (Manhattan)
EVENT: 'Mass' of Rededication
New York's "Abp." Timothy Dolan, a "conservative" appointee of Benedict XVI in 2009, showed his true colors when he took part in the ceremonies rededicating the historically Jesuit Church of St. Francis Xavier. At around the 5:29 mark of the video an announcement is made during the gathering, in which we hear: "Let us now present our Catholic lesbian group and our gay Catholic men's group. Through their evangelizing efforts, educational and advocacy programs, and their emotional and spiritual support, these groups help LGBT Catholics return to the sacraments, and find an adult place in the church of their youth. I invite them and all who support this ministry to stand". These words (including the rhetorical abuse of the terms "evangelizing", "educational", "spiritual support" and "ministry" bring a rousing standing ovation, while Dolan, smiles broadly and waves, instead of stopping the proceeding dead in their tracks and condemning deviant behavior as wrong (of course, he wouldn't have been there in the first place had the church not been in good standing with him). Then at the end of "Mass" (7:56), Dolan adds further sacrilegious insult by attempting to invoke the intercession of St. Francis Xavier. Such actions have not deterred Modernist Rome from naming Dolan a "Cardinal".

"Packed into a corner of the Drive-In restaurant, Rick Perry today attempted to differentiate himself from Rick Santorum, who is flirting with much of the evangelical vote that Perry is counting on to win South Carolina.
"Perry slammed the former Pennsylvania senator’s social conservative record while in Congress and made one clear religious distinction between the two candidates, for the first time mentioning that Santorum is a “good Catholic” two times.
“'Rick Santorum is a good man,' Perry said of Santorum during a media availability. 'He is a good father. He’s a good Catholic, but he hasn’t always been a good conservative.…'
"The Texas governor took issue with Santorum’s vote to approve Sonia Sotomayor’s appointment to an appellate court, which set her on track to become a Supreme Court justice.
“'I mean she is pro-abortion,' Perry said. 'Obama is a very liberal president and she is reflective of his philosophy, so there were 29 conservatives that voted against her, people like Strom Thurmond, and Rick voted for her, so the idea that he is a pure social conservative, this flies right in the face of it.'”

Rick Santorum dismisses flyer attacking his wife
NOW Comments:
Here's an example of where the Protestant Perry is echoing the age-old error of Martin Luther that a Christian ruler need not behave as a Christian in his government capacity, as if somehow the private man can be divorced from his public side. (It's notable that this false thinking has become very popular in Novus Ordo circles with the "personally opposed to abortion" canard.) Perry's wrong to suggest that Santorum can somehow simultaneously be a good Catholic while approving abortion, because it's impossible to compartmentalize in any reasonable way how a man deals with moral decisions he's personally obliged to make at his job and his walk with God, as if the Almighty isn't mindful of those decisions. In fairness, Santorum's approval of Sotomayor in 1997 was not done with a full understanding of her abortion is a woman's right" position, which she kept close to her vest. However, it doesn't appear that he did due diligence to find out, either. But there's an even more egregious example Perry could have used in this regard, something where no plea of ignorance could be used, and that's Santorum's support of longtime pro-abortion Senator Arlen Specter. If Rick Santorum wants to be a good Catholic, a good conservative and a good leader he must, like the rest of us, heed our Lady's apparition at Fatima, where she specifically called for each and every person (politicians were not singled out as exceptions) to fulfill the duties appropriate for their state of life. In the case of Santorum this means always doing all that he can to fight the slaughter of the unborn, not just when he deems it politically expedient to do so. The flyer mentioned in "Related News" claims that prior to marriage Santorum's wife in the 1980s had a six-year affair with an abortion doctor. Sure, people change, but one has to fear, were he to be elected, that she would turn out in the mold of GOP pro-abortion First Ladies like Barbara and Laura Bush, whose husbands also claimed to be pro-life.
Occult links to the Novus Ordo
Vanguard art against the Church
"Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa (1885-1935), defining his religious position, reveals the underpinning of modern art: [I am] a Gnostic Christian and, therefore, completely opposed to all organized churches, above all the Church of Rome. I am faithful … to the secret tradition of Christianity, which is intimately connected with the secret tradition of Israel (the holy Kabala) and the occult core of Freemasonry.'
"Similar Gnostic interests led Oswaldo de Andrade, one of the founders of Brazilian modern art, to confess his sympathies for the leftist liturgical currents that had infiltrated the Church. He affirmed that Catholicism was adjusting itself, “returning, so to speak, to its pro-socialist position.' What interests him most, in the movement of renewal in Catholicism, however, is the persona of the German early progressivist priest and scholar, Romano Guardini.…"

'Canonical Appeals for Dummies'
Most U.S. 'Catholics' take complaints to 'church' court
"In recent years, clergy and lay people in the United States have increasingly turned to the church's internal legal system to challenge a bishop's or pastor's decision about even the most workaday issues in Catholic life, according to canon lawyers in academia, dioceses and in private practice. Sometimes, the challengers even win.
"In one example cited by veteran canon lawyers, parishioners wanted to bar musical performances in their church that weren't liturgical. Their priest had been renting space to a local band. In another case, a nun filed a petition after a religious superior disclosed the nun's medical information to others — a potential violation of privacy. Regarding bishops' often contentious decisions to close parishes, the liberal reform group FutureChurch posts a guide on its website called "Canonical Appeals for Dummies" on seeking Vatican intervention to stay open."
Predictable protest
Vatican protesters evicted by police
"Demonstrators attempting to set up a protest camp in St Peter's Square in Rome have been forcibly removed by riot police backed by the Vatican.
"Aiming to set up a protest camp similar to the Occupy encampment outside St Paul's in London, up to 50 protesters arrived in the colonnaded piazza in front of St Peter's basilica carrying placards calling on the Catholic church to pay more taxes, a likely reference to tax breaks handed to the Vatican by the Italian government."
NOW Comments:
This demonstration was just a matter of time. The so-called Occupy movement is a full-scale assault on established institutions with the aim being to have everything overseen by a one world government. It should go without saying that our call to "Occupy the Vatican!" is in no way connected to what these radicals are doing and what they stand for. We look for a time when Tradition is truly restored to the Apostolic See and the scoundrels now falsely in control there are thrown out.

This item reminds of us John Paul II's dealings in Africa with voodooists, some of who worship crocodiles. It was while he was visiting Togo that that "pope" talked about praying with animists, and it is reported that this involved him tossing cucumber peelings in front of a "sacred" snake hut.
Exposing the phony, subversive "Saint" Dorothy DayThe Catholic Worker Movement (1933-1980): A Critical Analysis
"This is an eye-opening account, based on authentic documentary evidence, of two American Catholic radicals Dorothy Day (1897-1980) and Peter Maruin (1877-1949), founders of the Catholic Worker Movement (CWM), who, during the Great Depression and the Cold War, made common cause with Communist-led movements to build a new society where “Social Justice” would reign supreme.…
"The importance of this message to the survival of traditional Catholicism is obvious: as Dorothy Day’s cause for canonization has been opened by the Vatican, there is an ongoing need to alert people to the dangers of importing into the Christian community the same revolutionary principles espoused by Lenin and his followers. This book will appeal to anyone interested in issues concerning the continued dangers posed by 'cultural Marxism' to our Christian-based cultural heritage."
Excerpts from the Notes:
Day mentioned with approval the Communist policy of “abolishing private property altogether and setting up communes” in CW [Catholic Worker newspaper―NOW] July-August 1969 when she stated:
"We are living in an era in which vast countries like Russia and China have solved the problem of agribusiness by abolishing private property altogether and setting up communes, which may be areas consisting of thirty villages, as in China, or collective farms, as in the Soviet Union and Cuba."
p. 43
Day’s references to Louis Budenz are taken from CW December 1946. Her biographer, William D. Miller, revealed that “when Louis Budenz became a Catholic, Day wrote in CW that she hoped Budenz would not take to the lecture circuit to denounce his old faith.” (William D. Miller,
Pretty Bubbles in the Air: America in 1919, University of Illinois Press, 1991, p. 142.)
Budenz stated immediately after his conversion to the Catholic Church: “Communism and Catholicism are irreconcilable. Communism, I have found, aims to establish a tyranny over the human spirit; it is in unending conflict with religion and true freedom.” (Louis Budenz,
This is My Story, McGraw-Hill Book Co., New York, 1947)
p. 62…
"Day always opposed efforts to combat Communism and stated: 'Forget the negative idea of "fighting Communism".' ( CW May 1937) Her true position on the Spanish Civil War became clear when she admitted many years later:
"'When my friends back then kept saying that the Catholic church in Spain was fascist, was part of a fascist coalition, was corrupt and a bulwark of all the worst, most exploitative elements in Spain, I had to agree. I knew what they were saying was politically and economically true.'"
(Quoted in Robert Coles, Dorothy Day: A Radical Devotion , Da Capo, 1987, p. 79)
p. 65
It is interesting to note that the Pacifist monk, Fr Thomas Merton, supported Day’s stance. He stated that some CW readers
"may get quite hot about the fact that you want to point out that Castro may have had good intentions and in actual fact has been less wicked than our mass media want him to have been. People who are scared and upset use a very simple logic, and they think that if you defend Castro as a human being you are defending all the crimes that have ever been committed by Communism anywhere and they will feel that you are threatening them." (Quoted in Nancy Roberts, Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker, State University of New York Press, 1984, p. 156.)
p. 242
Day stated:
"The Liturgical movement has meant everything to the Catholic Worker from its very beginning. We had our communion procession and even the altar facing the people, as far back as 1937." ( CW March 1966)
p. 277
In November 1965, when Day was in Rome, she wrote:
"On the way I saluted the statue of Garibaldi, who was God’s instrument in relieving the Papacy of those encumbrances, the Papal States." (Dorothy Day, On Pilgrimage, William B. Eerdmans, Grand Rapids, Michigan: 1999, p. 33)
"Garibaldi invaded the Papal States with his insurgents – an act that Day, despite her absolute Pacifism, described as a 'mighty work of God'" ( CW July-August 1969)
Day noted approvingly: “Fortunately, the Papal States were wrested from the Church in the last century.” ( CW July-August 1969)
Making better
Buddhists!
Zen Buddhist-'Catholic' Dialogue
This is a great example of the "spirit of Assisi" in action. Far from seeking converts, Salt Lake City "Bp." John Wester" openly rejects proselytizing his Buddhist friends, whom he sees as belonging to an equally valid "faith tradition". If they leave the dialogues more fulfilled in their false religion, so much the better. Wester was appointed to his post by the friend of (Buddhist?) tradition, Benedict XVI, and installed by "Abp." George "How should I know I wasn't supposed to give communion to a transvestite wearing a string of pearls, mime makeup and a traditional nuns' habit?" Niederauer.

Poland adjusting to more secular
age
"The
traditional primacy of the Roman Catholic church in Poland
has been shaken. On Oct. 9, one of every 10 Poles voted for
the socially egalitarian and explicitly anticlerical party
known as the Palikot Movement, named after founder Janusz
Palikot.
"While politicians generally
avoid criticism of the church in a country that is 97
percent Catholic, the Palikot party has already demanded the
removal of a crucifix from the main chamber of Poland’s Sejm
(parliament―see photo left――note crucifix over doorway).
"This new party, which won 40
seats in the 460-seat parliament, seeks to end tax
exemptions for priests, religion classes and crucifixes in
public schools, and all state subsidies for churches. It
favors marijuana legalization and same-sex civil unions.
"Palikot has brought
controversial issues into the open. Among the Palikot
members seen during the nationally televised swearing in of
parliament Nov. 8 were a transsexual woman and a gay man.
Conservative Poland has never experienced anything like
this."
NOW Comments:
Some may question the subheading
"More fruits of Vatican II", but among the issues the
article raises is that "the presence of a crucifix in
parliament was a violation of the constitution, which is
neutral on religion." The Conciliar Constitution
Dignitatis Humanae, in
contradiction to the perennial teaching of the Catholic
Church, that opened the door to changing national
constitutions in historically Catholic
countries
from those favoring the Church to
denominationally-neutral ones, a policy that Paul VI
pushed forward in nations like Spain and Columbia. Sadly,
Poland has now followed suit after the official "fall of
Communism", so in practical terms, many of the same
anti-Catholic policies favored by the erstwhile Soviet
satellite are once again in place―the more things change,
the more they stay the same.

Novus Ordo Watch Christmas greeting and appeal
did not comprehend it.…That was the true light that enlighteneth every
man that cometh into this world."
― Gospel of St. John 1:4-5, 9
in
this holy season we rejoice in the nativity of Our Savior
Jesus Christ,
Who was born in poor, humble surroundings to the Blessed
Virgin Mary at the dead of night in Bethlehem.
The cold stable into which St. Joseph brought his most pure
spouse and which served as refuge for the Holy Family was
open to the elements and only dimly lit by oil lamps, but
from a lowly manger there the light of the
Divine Infant shown forth the brightness and warmth of
Heaven. Today, two millennia later the light of the Christ
Child still burns just as brightly and just as warmly in the
hearts of the faithful, as it serves, too, as a beacon to
all men of good will.
It
is in the spirt of the season that Novus Ordo Watch staff
takes this moment to extend our best wishes that the Christ
Child will bless our readers and their loved ones now and in
the coming days and throughout 2012. May He bring you and
yours every good gift, especially His true light to guide
you in this life and lead you at length of days into the
eternal light of the Beatific Vision. More and more may He
give you that true enlightenment that only He is capable of
giving, He Who is the Divine Wisdom.
And
may he strengthen us all in the coming year to be true to
our vocations as members of the Church Militant, for we live
in a day when antichristian forces are redoubling their
efforts to extinguish the light of Christ from the face of
the Earth. Most insidious of those forces is Modernist Rome,
because it does it's destruction deceptively, falsely
claiming the name "Catholic", while carrying out an agenda
that is
anything but Catholic…tearing down as it pretends to
build up.
Now
in our second decade online, Novus Ordo Watch continues to
expose the nefarious works of the Conciliar Church. Today
that task is more daunting than ever before, as Benedict XVI
has shown himself to a very crafty adversary by pretending
to be a friend of Catholic Tradition. "Pope" Ratzinger has
fooled many with his ruse, but we continue to make available
the truth about him.
Thus,
it is all the more imperative that we continue our work to
enlighten those still deceived by the counterfeit sect that
is the Novus Ordo "Church". We know from our readers around
the world that we have made and continue to make a
difference for better. We are firmly committed to keep our
candle shining brightly. But to do this, we need your help.
Our apostolate is gravely compromised by equipment that is
barely functional, one of the primary reasons updates have
been so spread apart. Recurring bouts of illness and other
pressing personal matters have further frustrated our
efforts, but over and above all other considerations has
been computer unreliability. This has been an ongoing
concern for quite some time now and on more than one
occasion we've warned our readers of the detrimental effect
this has been having on providing timely updates. It's gone
from our bringing you regular updates to occasional ones
(The situation is dire enough that there were limitations
even to the formatting that could be done on this appeal!)
The
matter has continually worsened as we accurately foretold
(in addition to constant white and blue screens, a new
problem's has emerged a window's now popped up advising that
our website software is "OUT OF MEMORY"), but unfortunately,
too many readers seem to have thought our call for help was
merely a case of the boy who cried "wolf", yet in this case
the wolf turns out to be very real, and able to do untold
destruction because the plea has gone largely unheeded.
Simply stated, Novus Ordo Watch does not have the resources
at hand enjoyed by many other websites, so it is imperative
that we be sustained by our readership. We know we have
enough loyal readers to turn back the wolf with their
support. Some of them have generously offered assistance,
but for whatever reason never followed through with their
good intentions. Friends, we need that help now. Please
don't let us down as the matter has grown grave.
Over
the years we at have given much time and energy in writing,
editing and researching
Novus Ordo Watch. It's been a labor of love to do all we can
to fight for the restoration of the Church by exposing the
works of darkness of those enemies who attack her in
sheep's clothing. But this can only be done with long-needed
upgrades. If you or someone you know has benefited from our
work and would like to make sure it continues to be here for
others now and in the future, please take a moment now to
make a donation.
Large or small, the contributions we receive from our
readership will go a long way towards finally making the
improvements needed for the continuance of the website. For
those who can't afford even the "widow's mite", we are also
very appreciative of prayers directed to Novus Ordo
Watch. But we need this help ASAP. We greatly appreciate all
donations and have Masses offered for our all benefactors.
Thanks in advance to those who give!
Please help today. May the Infant Lord Jesus grant you His richest
blessings!

"We recognize that the
remote causes may be reduced to two: curiosity and
pride. Curiosity by itself, if not prudently
regulated, suffices to account for all errors.
Such is the opinion of Our predecessor, Gregory XVI,
who wrote: 'A lamentable spectacle is that presented
by the aberrations of human reason when it yields to
the spirit of novelty, when against the warning of
the Apostle it seeks to know beyond what it is meant
to know, and when relying too much on itself it
thinks it can find the truth outside the Catholic
Church wherein truth is found without the
slightest shadow of error.'
