As Catholic as the Dalai Lama…

Meet the New “Archbishop” of Santa Fe:
John Charles Wester

As of late, Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”) has been appointing “bishops” faster than Chris Ferrrara can say “diabolical disorientation”. On Monday, April 27, 2015, Mr. Bergoglio appointed the “bishop” of Salt Lake City, John Charles Wester, as the new “Archbishop” of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here are some of the news stories covering the appointment, as well as an interview:

John Wester is a posterboy for Novus Ordo interreligious dialogue. He has maintained a long friendship with Christopher Clowery, who is a former Methodist and now a Buddhist monk who goes by the name of Heng Sure. In the late 1970s, Sure engaged in a two-and-a-half-year, 800-mile “pilgrimage” of walking three steps and then bowing, “for peace”. If we consider the global conflicts and wars since 1979, it looks like that didn’t work out too well. After all that walking and bowing, still no peace! But that’s not surprising: “Woe to you, apostate children, saith the Lord, that you would take counsel, and not of me: and would begin a web, and not by my spirit, that you might add sin upon sin” (Is 30:1); “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you” (Jn 14:27); “the peace of Christ … is the only true peace” (Pope Pius XI, Encyclical Ubi Arcano, n. 37).

The following videos give a glimpse of what happens at an interreligious dialogue and what sort of nonsense is actually said and discussed. Striking is the absence of any attempt on the part of the supposed Catholic bishop, whether overt or covert, to actually seek the conversion of the Buddhist to Jesus Christ, to the Catholic Church (even the Novus Ordo Sect), as an indispensable condition for his eternal salvation. It is clear that Wester, like any Modernist, does not believe that the Buddhist will go to hell if he remains a Buddhist up until his death, and that salvation can only be had through our Lord Jesus Christ in His Catholic Church (cf. Mk 16:16; Jn 14:6; Acts 4:12; Holy Office Letter Suprema Haec Sacra, 1949).

Yes, “conversion” is spoken of in the videos below, but it is spoken of by both sides and the “Catholic bishop” does not even pretend to understand it as a transfer from the kingdon of the devil to the kingdom of God, from spiritual death to a life of grace enabling salvation. See for yourself:

Notice how only one of these two men actually cares to dress in his religion’s proper attire.

“How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” (Heb 2:3) – Probably not a question Mr. Wester has asked himself lately…

“And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?” (2 Cor 6:15) — “Bishop” Wester will tell you…

Quite simply, Wester holds to what was condemned by the Catholic Popes as “that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy, since they all in different ways manifest and signify that sense which is inborn in us all” (Pope Pius XI, Encyclical Mortalium Animos, n. 2). This is the heresy of Indifferentism, also known as Latitudinarianism, and it forms one of the bedrock principles of Modernism. Pope Pius IX had denounced it as a “perverse [and] shocking theory” as soon as he was elected to the Chair of St. Peter in 1846:

Also perverse is the shocking theory that it makes no difference to which religion one belongs, a theory which is greatly at variance even with reason. By means of this theory, those crafty men remove all distinction between virtue and vice, truth and error, honorable and vile action. They pretend that men can gain eternal salvation by the practice of any religion, as if there could ever be any sharing between justice and iniquity, any collaboration between light and darkness, or any agreement between Christ and Belial.

(Pope Pius IX, Encyclical Qui Pluribus, n. 15)

The Novus Ordo Sect is infested with interreligious dialogue and related interfaith activities (for example, see Francis’ “Prayer for Peace” with Muslims and Jews in the Vatican Gardens). In a candid moment, “Pope” Benedict XVI admitted that such dialogue does not have the conversion of the non-Catholic as its object: “…dialogue does not aim at conversion, but at better mutual understanding…” (Address to the Roman Curia, Dec. 21, 2012). True, in the same breath he pointed out that “the search for knowledge and understanding always has to involve drawing closer to the truth”, but this is simply Modernist gobbledygook, purposefully vague and ambiguous so as not to assert anything definite. A Catholic is not searching for the truth, he has it and must proclaim it to non-Catholics (cf. Jn 14:6; 1 Tim 3:15; Mt 28:19-20). This concept of seeking the conversion of the other by charitably preaching the Gospel to him is not difficult to understand, and it worked well for over 1,900 years.

We have some final words for the apostate Christopher Clowery (Heng Sure), since he will surely never hear these from “Bishop” Wester: “Thy own wickedness shall reprove thee, and thy apostasy shall rebuke thee. Know thou, and see that it is an evil and a bitter thing for thee, to have left the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not with thee, saith the Lord the God of hosts” (Jer 2:19).

And we also have some parting words for the newly-appointed Archlayman Wester: “But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven” (Mt 10:33).

Clowery and Wester are two apostate peas in a pod. No wonder they’re having such great conversation.
